presents the ONE-DAY WORKSHOP on SUSTAINABLE CONCRETE

Venue: Goodwood Park Hotel, Scotts Road, Singapore

Introduction:
The Workshop is organised to present papers and discuss initiatives on the sustainability of concrete as a construction material.

The Workshop will be of importance and interest to the ready-mixed and precast concrete manufacturers, concrete technologists, contractors, consulting engineers and researchers.

The various issues to be presented are listed in the programme.

Dr C T Tam, a well-known professional engineer who specialises on concrete research and consultancy will lead the Workshop with the Introductory Lecture on the Role of EN and SS standards in Sustainable Concrete. Other prominent professionals and researchers will present their findings and amongst them include:

-Prof C S Poon, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong Research activities on recycled aggregate concrete at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
-A/Prof Ong Khim Chye, Gary, National University of Singapore, Singapore. Recycled Aggregates Can Make the Grade.
-Dr Tamilselvan, Newall Tech Pte. Ltd, Singapore. Use of Recycled Aggregate in Concrete. A Performance Based Approach.
-Dr S F Wong, Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore. Use of Recycled Plastics In Building Materials.
-Mr Mittsuya Miyamoto, NR-MIX, Japan. Recent achievements on returned concrete, Japan.

-Dr Sabet D Bahador, EnGro Corporation Limited, Singapore. Toward sustainable concrete: Specifying and achieving economical high strength and durable concrete.

-Mr David Ball, David Ball Inc, United Kingdom. The advantages of High Sustainability Concrete for a low carbon future.
-Mr Lu Jin Ping, Admaterials Technologies Pte Ltd, Singapore. Design of durable concrete mix for sustainability.
-Dr Daneti Saradhi Babu, Alliance concrete Singapore Pte Ltd. Sustainability of concrete constructions for 21st century.
-Dr Sven Asmus, BASF, Singapore. Eco Friendly Self Compacting Concrete (SCC) for Every Day Applications.
-Dr Herbert Zheng, Gammon Construction Ltd., Hong Kong “Concrete: from Grey to Green”.
